Technical Clerk
Do you enjoy bringing order to complex, safety critical environments, and making sure nothing important slips through the cracks? This role gives you the chance to play a key part in supporting the Sizewell A Engineering team and Safety Case Manager, where high quality administration and data manipulation directly underpins safe, compliant operations.
You will provide trusted technical administrative support and data manipulation within a highly regulated environment, working closely with engineers, safety specialists and wider site teams. It is a varied role for someone who enjoys responsibility, cares about detail, and is confident working independently while staying closely connected to others.
What will you be doing
You will be the central point of support for documentation, data and coordination within the function, ensuring information is accurate, controlled and available when needed. Your work will help the team meet regulatory, site licence and company requirements, while keeping day to day activity running smoothly.
You will prepare and track functional documentation, manage databases, spreadsheets and project plans, and produce monthly statistics, performance indicators and trend information. You will also coordinate inputs from supporting functions, support cost monitoring and reporting, minute meetings and track actions. From time to time, you may take on ad hoc projects or provide day to day direction of administrative tasks to others, setting clear standards and priorities.
Key elements of the role include:
- Managing documentation, records and change control with strong quality assurance
- Producing performance, cost and reporting information with accuracy and insight
- Coordinating activity across teams and maintaining clear, effective communication
Who are we looking for
You are an experienced administrator who takes pride in delivering high quality outputs and understands the importance of accuracy in a nuclear environment. Personal attributes will include being self-motivated, customer focussed and willing to be flexible within the requirements of the role. You are confident working with IT systems such as databases, spreadsheets, word processing and project tools, and are comfortable working on your own initiative while balancing multiple priorities.
You will have experience providing a wide range of administrative support and strong communication skills, enabling you to work effectively with engineers, site colleagues and external organisations. GCSE level qualifications or equivalent in English and Mathematics are essential, along with proven attention to detail and an awareness of the significance of the data you manage. Knowledge of plant, documentation control or working within regulated environments is helpful, but your attitude, reliability and willingness to learn will matter just as much.
If this sounds like you, the next step is simple. Apply and tell us why this role interests you and what you would bring to the team.
