What will you be doing?

As Senior Project Manager, you will take ownership of a business-critical project, providing leadership, direction and oversight to ensure safe, effective and successful delivery. Acting as the key interface between NRS, site teams, contractors and corporate functions, you'll bring together diverse stakeholders to maintain momentum, overcome challenges and achieve programme objectives safely, on time and within budget.

You'll champion a strong safety culture, drive performance across all areas of the project lifecycle and provide the strategic oversight needed to manage risks, opportunities and complex delivery interfaces. Working closely with contractors and project teams, you'll create collaborative solutions to technical and operational challenges while ensuring compliance with approved processes, designs and regulatory requirements. Alongside project delivery, you'll support the development of team members, helping to build a high-performing and engaged project environment.

• Lead the safe delivery of a major demolition and decommissioning project, ensuring performance against safety, schedule, cost and quality objectives.
• Manage project risks, opportunities, stakeholder relationships and contractor performance to support successful outcomes.
• Act as the primary point of contact between project teams, site operations, contractors and corporate functions.
• Provide leadership, coaching and direction to project team members while driving continuous improvement and delivery excellence.

Who are we looking for?

We're looking for a highly capable and influential project leader with a proven track record of delivering complex projects in highly regulated, high-hazard environments. You will bring the confidence to manage challenging programmes, inspire teams, build strong stakeholder relationships and make effective decisions in dynamic and often demanding circumstances.

You'll be educated to degree level, or hold an equivalent professional qualification in a relevant discipline, alongside a recognised project management certification such as APM Registered Project Professional. Most importantly, you'll have significant experience leading large-scale projects from planning through execution, with a strong understanding of project controls, risk management, commercial oversight and contractor management. Experience within sectors such as nuclear, construction, infrastructure, defence, energy or other highly regulated industries would be particularly valuable.

Success in this role will require exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, a proactive and customer-focused approach, and the ability to build collaborative relationships that enable delivery. You'll be resilient, adaptable and solutions-focused, with the credibility to influence at all levels and the strategic thinking needed to navigate complex project challenges. Experience with NEC contracts, construction site safety qualifications and knowledge of decommissioning or major demolition programmes would be advantageous, but your ability to lead people, solve problems and deliver results safely will be what truly sets you apart.

• Degree-level qualification (or equivalent professional qualification) in a relevant discipline and a recognised project management certification are essential.
