Senior Production Technician (Maintenance)
Are you looking for a role where your mechanical maintenance skills genuinely matter and where you can see the impact of your work every day? As a Senior Production Technician, you will play a key part in keeping our sites safe, compliant and operating to a high standard.
You will join a team that values professionalism, good judgement and a calm, methodical approach. We work in a regulated environment, so you will be trusted to apply your expertise, follow clear processes and contribute to a strong safety culture. If you want a role that offers a four-day working week and the chance to support the UK’s nuclear legacy with pride, this could be the right next step.
What will you be doing
You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance on a wide range of mechanical systems across the Sizewell A and Bradwell sites. This includes everything from routine checks to fault diagnosis, repairs and supporting safe plant operations. You will use your judgement to investigate issues, identify root causes and propose practical engineering solutions.
Alongside hands on work, you will help maintain high standards by preparing or approving documentation, following quality procedures and clearly communicating maintenance findings to colleagues. You will also support others through knowledge sharing and safe working practices.
You will:
- Carry out preventative maintenance, breakdown investigations and repairs on mechanical systems
- Diagnose faults including pumps, cranes, hydraulic systems, ventilation, water systems and compressors
- Prepare and review work order cards, risk assessments and other documentation
- Ensure all work is delivered safely, compliantly and in line with QA requirements
Who are we looking for
You will bring sound mechanical maintenance experience and the confidence to work both independently and as part of a high performing team. Your approach will be safety focused, thorough and aligned to working in a regulated environment. Being organised and able to communicate clearly will help you succeed in this role.
You will need a relevant technical qualification at Level 3, strong hands on mechanical skills and the ability to read engineering drawings. Experience in the nuclear sector is helpful but not essential if you bring the right capability and mindset.
You will have:
- A Level 3 technical qualification such as City & Guilds or BTEC ONC
- Practical experience in mechanical maintenance
- Strong diagnostic and problem solving skills
- The ability to work safely, accurately and in line with clear procedures
