Nuclear Restoration Services Limited (NRS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA). NRS is responsible for decommissioning first generation nuclear power stations Berkeley, Bradwell, Chapelcross, Dungeness A, Hinkley Point A, Hunterston A, Oldbury, Sizewell A, Trawsfynydd and Wylfa, and research sites Harwell and Winfrith. NRS is also responsible for electricity generation at hydroelectric plant Maentwrog. As a division of NRS, NRS Dounreay is responsible for the clean-up and demolition of the former centre of fast reactor research and development.

"We are currently recruiting for a Microsoft Power Platform Developer to deliver and exploit our forward looking tactical & strategic business needs and outcomes across the NRS Microsoft M365 enterprise environment, whilst delivering value and exploring transformative ways of utilising PowerApps, Power Automate/AI, SharePoint and PowerBI across the business.
The role will involve taking the lead on developing, nurturing, and embedding a successful Power Platform Centre of Excellence, including the need to establish and grow an extended mentored business development community, that delivers modern business automation of the NRS Microsoft 365 Tenancy.
Excel in your specialist field whilst delivering significant benefits in business productivity, efficiency and experience of end-users and address new and legacy applications consolidation opportunities against an exciting backdrop of strategic business change and growth."
Please note this is a hybrid role, with the expectation of working at our office in Bradley Stoke (BS32 4QQ) or another NRS site a minimum of two days per week.
Key Deliverables
- Design, develop, and implement solutions using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Power Virtual Agents).
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Create and maintain custom connectors for integrating with various data sources.
- Develop and manage Power BI reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights.
- Automate business processes using Power Automate to improve efficiency.
- Ensure data integrity and security across all Power Platform solutions.
- Provide training and support to end-users on Power Platform tools and applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Power Platform solutions.
- Stay updated with the latest features and best practices of the Power Platform.
Qualifications & Experience
- Microsoft certifications or equivalent (essential).
- Demonstrable experience in Microsoft Power Platform development, e.g., PowerApps, Power Automate, PowerBI and SharePoint (essential).#INDOR
Given Power Platform is an emerging technology, we also welcome applications for those looking to develop and therefore may not meet all the essential criteria for the role. In these circumstances there may be a lower grade offered for a development opportunity. The successful candidate would be considered on a case by case basis and supported with a PDP (Personal Development Plan) to enable a clear path for progression into the role.

- Flexible working – where possible.
- The equivalent of 25 days (185 hours per year) annual leave plus Public Holidays (59.2 hours per year). This increases by 2 days (14.8 hours per year) annual leave after two full calendar years of service (as at 5th January in the leave year) , and an additional 3 days (22.2 hours per year) annual leave after five full calendar years of service (as at 5th January in the leave year). You also have the option to buy or sell the equivalent of 5 days (37 hours) annual leave each year (available in specific windows for the following holiday year). For the purpose of assessing an employee’s annual leave entitlement, a day means seven and two fifths (7.4) hours. A pro rata entitlement will apply for part time workers.

There is a requirement to live within a commutable distance to the sites where the role is based. For central/multi-site roles, we have various hubs across the UK and can be flexible with base location.
