Production Technician (Maintenance)
Are you looking for a hands‑on maintenance role where your work directly supports the safe management of the UK’s civil nuclear legacy? This is a chance to join a respected team that keeps essential mechanical systems running safely and reliably across the Sizewell A and Bradwell sites.
You will work in a highly professional environment with a strong safety culture, supportive colleagues and a four day working week. If you want to build your skills, work to consistently high standards and be part of a team with a clear purpose, this could be the right next step for you.
What will you be doing
You will carry out a mix of planned and reactive mechanical maintenance to keep key assets performing safely and efficiently. Working both independently and within the wider Maintenance Team, you will support ongoing operations across both Sizewell and Bradwell while maintaining full compliance with all safety, environmental and quality requirements. You will also be involved in Stores Inventory tasks at Sizewell, helping keep equipment and materials moving smoothly.
Your day-to-day work will include diagnosing faults, completing maintenance to the expected standards and supporting colleagues with technical advice when needed. You will also follow safe systems of work, contribute to continuous improvement and play your part in maintaining a positive and proactive safety culture.
Key activities include:
- Carrying out mechanical maintenance on pumps, cranes, hydraulic and ventilation systems, compressors and other site assets
- Analysing issues, reporting findings and supporting efficient resolution
- Working to approved maintenance instructions, safety rules and quality documentation
- Providing technical support to future project design and implementation
Who are we looking for
You bring strong mechanical maintenance experience, work safely and professionally, stay calm when priorities shift and communicate clearly. We welcome motivated learners who are still developing, with a supported development route available.
To succeed, you will need a Level 3 technical qualification, solid mechanical maintenance experience and confidence working to detailed instructions, risk assessments and engineering drawings. Experience with lifting equipment, inventory management or work in nuclear or highly regulated environments is helpful but not essential.
You will have:
- Level 3 technical qualification such as City & Guilds or BTEC ONC and strong mechanical maintenance experience, with the ability to follow safety documentation, risk assessments and engineering drawings
- Clear and confident communication when reporting issues or sharing knowledge
- Experience operating static and mobile lifting equipment such as forklift trucks, pallet trucks and hoists for moving plant and equipment
- Knowledge and experience in stores inventory management
