Nuclear Restoration Services Limited (NRS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA). NRS is responsible for decommissioning first generation nuclear power stations Berkeley, Bradwell, Chapelcross, Dungeness A, Hinkley Point A, Hunterston A, Oldbury, Sizewell A, Trawsfynydd and Wylfa, and research sites Harwell and Winfrith. NRS is also responsible for electricity generation at hydroelectric plant Maentwrog. As a division of NRS, NRS Dounreay is responsible for the clean-up and demolition of the former centre of fast reactor research and development.

“This role will cover all aspects of paying both suppliers and employees within NRS. Our target is to ensure invoices are paid in a timely manner and queries are resolved to ensure payment on time.
Processing of Expense claims ensuring compliance with NRS Standards (S-101) and supporting claimants to build best practice.”
Key Deliverables
- Process invoices transmitted from the outsourced invoice reception and verification service
- Ensure authorisation of payment by matching to valid purchase order and receipt (3-way match). Perform process control checks to give assurance of accuracy and fraud prevention
- Process staff and ASW travel expense claims to payment stage. Perform process control checks against the appropriate Travel & Expenses standards to give assurance of accuracy, compliance, and fraud prevention.
- Provide Helpdesk Support by liaising with suppliers and Magnox staff, with prompt response and resolution of queries for both invoices and expenses claims
- Reconcile supplier statements
- Process weekly payment runs to suppliers and staff
- Process requests for urgent payments, liaising with Magnox treasury function
- Solving problems and acting as subject matter expert in all aspects of Accounts Payable and Expense processing, following up process or transactional issues ensuring prompt resolution
- Initial point of contact for expenses queries that may arise during the checking process
- Additional Support for Employee Timebooking and Travel Analysis.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience of ERP systems and Purchase to Pay Processes
- Worked in large organisations dealing with high volumes of invoices
- Travel and Subsistence expense processing experience
- An appropriate qualification to NQF Level 3
Please note the successful candidate will need to be located within a commutable distance of one of our NRS sites, and will be expected to work there a minimum of 2 days per week.

- Flexible working – where possible.
- The equivalent of 25 days (185 hours per year) annual leave plus Public Holidays (59.2 hours per year). This increases by 2 days (14.8 hours per year) annual leave after two full calendar years of service (as at 5th January in the leave year) , and an additional 3 days (22.2 hours per year) annual leave after five full calendar years of service (as at 5th January in the leave year). You also have the option to buy or sell the equivalent of 5 days (37 hours) annual leave each year (available in specific windows for the following holiday year). For the purpose of assessing an employee’s annual leave entitlement, a day means seven and two fifths (7.4) hours. A pro rata entitlement will apply for part time workers.

There is a requirement to live within a commutable distance to the sites where the role is based. For central/multi-site roles, we have various hubs across the UK and can be flexible with base location.
