Finance Business Partner

Are you an experienced Finance Business Partner looking for a role during an exciting period of change? Hunterston B is located on the west coast of Scotland. It stopped generating electricity in 2022 after 46 years of service. Post the 1st April 2026 the site transfers from EDF to Nuclear Restoration Services (NRS), which is part of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority.  A programme of decommissioning will involve dismantling and demolition of plant and buildings on the Hunterston B site. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a varied, business-facing environment and enjoys working closely with operational teams to drive financial performance, strengthen decision-making, and add real value.

What you will be doing

We are seeking a Finance Business Partner to play a critical role in supporting effective financial management and informed decision‑making across the business. This is a high‑impact role working closely with operational and senior leaders, providing timely, accurate financial insight, analysis, and advice.

You will act as a trusted partner to the business, owning financial reporting for your area, leading budgeting and forecasting activities, and helping stakeholders understand performance, risks, and opportunities.

As a Finance Business Partner, you will analyse financial performance to identify trends and clearly explain variances to stakeholders, while leading budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities for your area. You will deliver high‑quality management information and performance reporting, taking ownership of month‑end processes including journals, accruals, reconciliations, and ensuring overall reporting accuracy. You will also provide data‑driven insight to Heads of Department and senior management to support informed decision‑making.

You will build strong working relationships beyond Finance, acting as a trusted advisor to the business. You will ensure compliance with company policies, financial controls, and Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards, while supporting continuous improvement across financial processes, systems, and reporting. This includes working with shared services, systems integrators, and third‑party providers as required, supporting the deployment of company‑wide policies, systems, and procedures, and undertaking emergency scheme duties when needed.
