Nuclear Restoration Services Limited (NRS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA). NRS is responsible for decommissioning first generation nuclear power stations Berkeley, Bradwell, Chapelcross, Dungeness A, Hinkley Point A, Hunterston A, Oldbury, Sizewell A, Trawsfynydd and Wylfa, and research sites Harwell and Winfrith. NRS is also responsible for electricity generation at hydroelectric plant Maentwrog. As a division of NRS, NRS Dounreay is responsible for the clean-up and demolition of the former centre of fast reactor research and development.

Executive PA
About the role
Purpose of Role
To provide a high level professional, proactive and confidential Executive personal assistant support service to an Executive member.
Key Deliverables
- Managing an extremely busy and complex diary, itinerary and travel logistics for an Executive. The post holder is to take a pro-active approach and prioritise the diverse demands on the Executive members’ time, to work independently using high levels of initiative and responsiveness.
- Provide comprehensive, professional, confidential administrative support to the Executive, including, but not limited to, management of expenses, arranging and prioritising meetings, organising travel, accommodation etc also supporting the wider Leadership team with meetings and ad hoc administrative work.
- Managing email correspondence, bringing attention to matters requiring an immediate response, and when required, responding to correspondence behalf of the Executive. Action and instruct others, arrange for and coordinate replies and responses.
- Ensuring the Executive is prepared for meetings, including bringing forward paperwork, chasing outstanding information, requesting and assembling briefing material and alerting him/her to upcoming deadlines.
- The ability to work effectively at senior level gaining trust and confidence with stakeholders.
- Work as part of an Executive PA Team providing cross cover and support for other Executive Directors and PAs as required.
- Support on specific organisation projects and Wider Leadership Meetings as and when requested.
- In the absence of the Executive, the post holder should ensure tasks are delegated and prioritise the information for action upon his/her return.
- Managing documentation and information and maintaining relevant sensitivities.
- Acting as primary contact for all enquiries from within NRS Ltd, the NDA, requests from Regulators etc. Ensuring that enquiries are dealt with efficiently and effectively, using sensitivity and discretion, including the follow up of decisions made by the executive member and ensuring that the appropriate action has been progressed and the task completed.
- Preparing confidential agendas, minutes and actions plans, as required.
- Undertake other tasks for the Executive, which may include some administration.
Qualifications & Experience
- A-Level or equivalent (or appropriate ‘on the job’ experience) (Essential)
- Computer literacy qualification, including RSA stage III typing and shorthand. (Desirable)
- Experience of providing PA support at director level, within a large, complex organisation with a range of external agencies. (Essential)
- Considerable knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, E rooms, and PowerPoint. (Essential)
- Ability to manage workload autonomously. (Essential)
- Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills. (Essential)
- Flexible attitude and ability to cope with conflicting priorities under pressure. (Essential)
- Proven organisational and time management skills, together with the ability to solve problems creatively, but in a logical manner. (Essential)
- A knowledge of the organisational structure of NRS, of the way it is designed to operate and administered. (Desirable)
- Experience of working within the nuclear industry. (Desirable)

- The equivalent of 25 days (185 hours per year) annual leave plus Public Holidays (59.2 hours per year). This increases by 2 days (14.8 hours per year) annual leave after two full calendar years of service (as at 5th January in the leave year) , and an additional 3 days (22.2 hours per year) annual leave after five full calendar years of service (as at 5th January in the leave year). You also have the option to buy or sell the equivalent of 5 days (37 hours) annual leave each year (available in specific windows for the following holiday year). For the purpose of assessing an employee’s annual leave entitlement, a day means seven and two fifths (7.4) hours. A pro rata entitlement will apply for part time workers.

There is a requirement to live within a commutable distance to the sites where the role is based. For central/multi-site roles, we have various hubs across the UK and can be flexible with base location.
