Want a permanent three-day weekend every week? Looking for a role where your drawings are used on real engineering projects, not just stored away? Join the Drawing Office team at Dungeness Power Station, working a four-day week (Monday to Thursday, 7:25–17:00) supporting a range of mechanical and electrical engineering projects across site.
Using AutoCAD and existing drawing records, you'll create new drawings, update existing designs, and help engineers maintain accurate information for ongoing maintenance, modifications, and future site projects. You'll see your work used in practice, working closely with engineers and project teams to support real changes across the plant.
The role offers a mix of office-based CAD work and occasional site visits, giving you the chance to see the equipment and systems behind the drawings. You'll join a collaborative team where your contribution is visible, valued, and directly supports the successful delivery of engineering work.
What will you be doing:
You'll create new engineering drawings and update existing mechanical and electrical drawings using AutoCAD, helping to support maintenance activities, engineering modifications, and future site projects.
Working closely with engineers and other departments, you'll ensure drawings remain accurate, up to date, and readily available when needed. You'll also carry out occasional site surveys to verify information and support drawing updates.
- Create, update and amend engineering drawings using AutoCAD
- Maintain drawing revisions and ensure version control is followed
- Carry out occasional site surveys and inspections to support drawing changes
- Work closely with engineers and project teams to provide drawing support across a range of site activities
You'll do all this within a 37-hour working week condensed into four days (Monday to Thursday), giving you every Friday off.
Who are we looking for:
You'll have experience producing and updating engineering drawings and be comfortable working with CAD software, ideally AutoCAD. We're open to candidates from a range of engineering environments, including manufacturing, rail, utilities, defence, and other industrial sectors.
- Qualified to NQF Level 3 (or equivalent) with CAD training
- Experience creating and updating engineering drawings using CAD software, ideally AutoCAD. 3D CAD software would be desirable, but not essential
- Exposure to mechanical drawings, with some understanding of electrical drawings and schematics
- Strong attention to detail, organisation skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders
If this sounds like a good fit, we'd love to hear from you. Be sure to highlight your CAD experience, drawing backgrounds, and any practical engineering or technical experience in your application.
